So, you've decided to treat yourself, now what? Enjoy your new lashes and keep them beautiful with these simple tips:

The first 24 hours: Avoid getting your lashes wet to allow the adhesive to cure thoroughly.

The first 48 hours: Avoid facials or use of any of steam from showers or saunas as well as tanning salons or swimming. Avoid use of alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids or any type of acidic substances. After this period of time, keep sauna, steam room and tanning visits to a minimum as this may cause the adhesive bond to weaken. Avoid sleeping on your lashes.

Daily Maintenance:
-Avoid using harsh mechanical eyelash curlers
-Even though mascara is not necessary with your extensions, you can use a WATER-BASED mascara on the tips. Use it sparingly. Avoid using any oil based or water proof mascara or eye make-up as this can cause the bond to weaken.
-Avoid using oil-based cleansers on or near the eye. Do not use cotton balls or swabs as the fibers may stick to the bond.
-There are many variables, including technicians expertise, hair growth cycle, use of cosmetics and skin care products and the overall care given that will influence how long the extensions remain in place.
-Most importantly, be gentle. Do not pick or pull on your extensions!

Eyelashes are made thicker and longer through the professional application of a synthetic eyelash directly attached to your natural eyelash with a pharmaceutical grade adhesive. Eyelash Extensions are semi-permanent, lasting 4-6 weeks depending on the life cycle of your own natural lashes and other factors. Though the average cycle of a single lash is about 90 days, factors such as your eyelash characteristics, lifestyle and general care of lashes will affect how long you maintain them.

Q. What are Eyelash Extensions?
A. Eyelash extensions is a new procedure that extends the real lash with a weightless and very natural looking synthetic lash.
We now also offer bottom lashes! Top and bottom applications can not be scheduled on the same day. Each takes a minimum of 24 hours to dry before applying the next. It is recommended to apply the top lashes first then book your appointment for the bottom lashes the next day.

Q. How is the extension performed?
A. The synthetic lash is applied hair by hair to each of our own lashes using a special bonding agent that lasts through your natural growth cycle of each lash, which is between 60 to 100 days.

Q. Why do I need to come in for a fill every 3 or 4 weeks?
A. Good question. Normally, not all of your eyelashes fall out at the same time.They replenish gradually day by day. You might loose one or two lashes each day, but when your lashes are short you don't notice it because they are all pretty much the same length. However, when you have extensions and some fall out, you notice them right away because now, there is a length difference No worries, by the time those lashes fall out there are plenty of new ones that have grown in and are ready to refill. Some people like the full look all the time and come in every 2 weeks, some prefer coming in every 3 or 4 weeks The cost of a fill is typically $45- $60 (within 3 weeks of your last service) at Simply Massage.

Q. How do I take care of them?
A. Eyelash extensions are easily maintained. When cleaning, don't rub your eyes too hard. Avoid any oil based cleansers, lotion, or make-up remover. Gel cleanser is recommended. Use a small Q-tip to carefully clean the eyeliner around the eye.

Q. Can I use mascara?
A. Mascara is also not recommended because we picked very high quality lashes which have a nice natural thickness to them. When you use mascara, it defeats the purpose of having natural looking lashes since they'll clump together. If you choose to use mascara, waterproof mascara is not recommended because the cleaning agents will loosen the adhesive. Mascara should only be used on the tips of the lashes.

Q. What do I do before I come in for the eyelash appointment?
A. Plan on the initial application taking about 90-120 minutes. You are welcome to bring an iPod with your favorite music to listen to or you'll be able to listen to our relaxing spa music. You should clean your lashes with mild cleanser, NOT an oily makeup remover. Do not curl your lashes or put on mascara the day of your appointment.

Q. Is the lash extension glued to my skin?
A. No, the extension lashes are glued about 1mm away from your skin. Neither the synthetic lash nor the glue ever come in contact with your skin.

Q. How do you remove the extension lashes?
A. There are 2 ways:

Come and let us professionally remove them with a special remover. Please do not attempt to remove them yourself. The glue is very strong. The cost of a removal is $25.
Let the extension lashes slowly fall out by themselves. This typically takes about 2 months.
